We provide a secure, supportive environment where students are accepted, understood and nurtured.

At ACG School Jakarta we teach English, and every child receives English grammar lessons as part of our literacy programme. However, for our non-native English speakers we offer an English Language Support (ELS) programme, designed to aid language acquisition and help students fit in at school socially and academically.

We also work closely with parents to ensure special education needs are identified early, and consider best practice and the wishes of the student when developing a support programme.

Our full-time Counsellor is available to support students emotionally. Dependent on the age of the student and the issues involved, time with the counsellor is available by appointment or referral.

ACG School Jakarta has a full time counselor who works with individuals, small groups, classes and whole year levels on a range of issues and topics. The counselor plays a support role to help students transition in and out of ACG School Jakarta. Additionally, the counselor supports students with social, emotional, and/or behavioral needs through programme training in:

• Transitional issues
• Stress/Time Management

• Building Healthy Relationships

Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and administrators, the counselor assist students in overcoming barriers in order to achieve greater success in all facets of learning and school life.

Trained educational psychologists are available upon request through the Counselor, Learning Support Team or Principal / Vice-Principal – Primary. They can assess a particular learning problem or provide professional advice on a range of learning and personal matters. The Principal is able to assist families to access mental health professionals if there is a need.

The University Guidance Counselor supports students, years 10 through 13, in their desire to further their education at colleges and universities around the world. The University selection and application process is comprehensive in its approach, and is tailored to individual students, their talents, abilities, and interests. An electronic university and college management system is utilized during this process and is a vital tool for tertiary success.
